New Teams Travel To Troy To Take On The ValleyCats This Summer
The Tri City ValleyCats open up their 2022 Frontier League season on the road Thursday against the Florence Y'Alls. The Y'Alls are from Kentucky and one of 8 new teams, for a total of 16, that will travel to Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy this summer. The Frontier League is one of the premier independent professional baseball leagues and is a partner with Major League Baseball.
Former MLB slugger Pete Incaviglia returns for his second season at the helm of the 'Cats. Incaviglia joined The Drive with Charlie & Dan on Thursday prior to their opener on the road. The skipper is confident in this year's roster and is looking forward to a great season. Closer Trey Cochran-Gill returns to anchor the bullpen. The former Auburn University standout, led the team with 24 saves last year.
The 'Cats have their home opener on Tuesday, May 17th at 6:30pm at Joe Bruno Stadium in Troy. It's the first game of a six day home-stand and there are awesome post-game fireworks. Good tickets are about $10 and parking is free. Concession prices are more than reasonable and the beer is generally ice cold. Team President, Rick Murphy and General Manager Matt Callahan are pros and run a tremendous, fan friendly, family oriented fun atmosphere, game after game.
The complete ValleyCats schedule is below. New teams, besides Florence, will be the Schaumburg Boomers, the Gateway Grizzlies and Tuesday's opponent, the Lake Erie Crushers. This will be a fantastic year for the 'Cats at the Joe. Don't miss it.
