The New York Jets have been determined to give more offensive weapons to Geno Smith this off-season. After signing top receiver free agent Eric Decker on Wednesday night, Herm Edwards questioned Decker as a NO.1 wide receiver on Mike and Mike.

How will Decker do when he goes up against newly signed Patriots corner Darrelle Revis twice a year?

Podcast: Herm Edwards on Jets' Decker Signing

"He probably won't catch a ball!" said Edwards. "That's what happened in the Super Bowl!"

Not exactly. But his point is made.

Decker was targeted only five times and caught one ball for six yards in the Super Bowl after having a career year with receptions and yards.

Edwards believes that the Jets are focusing on the wrong position in the free agent market.

"They need a tight end! You want to help the quarterback?! Get a tight end!"

The top tight ends on the market this year are going fast. Jimmy Graham has been franchise tagged by New Orleans, Texans' Owen Daniels is visiting Green Bay and Jermichael Finely is getting a physical in Seattle and will most likely be a Seahawk.

The Jets are reportedly still pursuing Packers wide receiver James Jones and if that's the case, they could focus on a tight end in the draft. Top-ranked Eric Ebron from UNC probably won't last till the Jets 18th pick but Texas Tech's Jace Amaro should be available.
