At 38-32, the Yankees have performed much better than many people (including myself) have thought. They sit just one game behind the Rays in the closely-contested American League East.

The Yanks have dealt with injuries in both the outfield and the pitching rotation, but help could be on the way soon in the form of outfielder Aaron Judge.

Judge, the 6-feet-7-inch OF, just earned the promotion to AAA Scranton-Wilkes Barre from AA Trenton. Judge has hit .283 with a .349 on-base percentage thus far through 64 games. He has 12 home runs and 44 RBIs.

The one thing that Judge will need to iron out if he is to make it to the Bronx in the near future is his contact skills. He has struck out 71 times in 254 at-bats. For reference, he has one less strikeout than he does hits (72).

Aside from having a lot of power, Judge is also a personal favorite of our own Jeff Levack.
