Albany NLL Down to 3 Options for Team Name

And then there were 3! The National Lacrosse League team, the Albany NLL, recently relocated to the Capital Region and needs an official name! After over 1,000 submissions the team has narrowed it down to 3 options. Here they are:

Albany Attack
Albany Black Arrows
Albany Fire Wolves

After a quick poll of the people in my house the results are Albany Attack 2, Albany Fire Wolves 1, Albany Black Arrows 0. You also have a say in this. Fans can vote a maximum of one time per day for their desired team name now at:

The poll will close on Sunday, March 14 at 12 Noon. Once the voting is complete, team owners and executives will then select the final team name, and begin working on team logos, colors and other branding elements surrounding the selection ahead of its inaugural season.

“After announcing that the team was relocating to the Capital Region only one week ago, receiving over 1,000 submissions for the ‘Name the Team’ contest in that short amount of time is a great sign of the support we are already receiving and of things to come,” - George Manias, team President.

Personally, I think it's awesome that the organization is including the fans in naming the team. This gives those of us from the Capital Region added pride in our home team. The team name and identity will be revealed shortly.

All of the official home games will be played at the Times Union Center and these home games will be open to the public (New York State COVID-19 restrictions and rules will apply)
