The New York Giants were tied with the Kansas City Chiefs more than halfway through the second quarter, 7-7, but that was all the G-Men would do offensively on the day.

The Chiefs went to a perfect 4-0 with a 23-7 victory over the Giants, who are now 0-4 for the first time in the Tom Coughlin era.

It's never good for your team to go 0-4 but perhaps Big Blue has some really bad timing. It's only the second time in 19 years that the New York Yankees won't be playing in the post-season, which begins on Monday. That's not going to make things any better for Coughlin's crew.

"This is a unique year," said Bob Papa, voice of the Yankees, on 104.5 The Team last Friday with Armen. "Normally in the New York football world, you have the Yankees in the playoffs and the back page is filled up with all baseball. The Giants and Jets usually fly under the radar in the first six or seven weeks.

"As of Monday morning, it’s all about football. So these New York teams are under a different spotlight than they’re used to. You can expect there’s going to be a lot of heat and a lot of ink being thrown towards the Giants direction."

In a year that has the Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium this February, there were large hopes that the Giants would make a playoff run and have a shot at playing the big game at home. At this point, the Giants just want a win. Literally, they'll take one win.

The Giants play the Eagles at home next weekend. A victory against the hated Philly team and NFC East Rival would numb some of the pain through the first five games.
