Beloved Kids’ Halloween Movie Named No. 1 Choice for New York Families

There are TONS of incredible Halloween movies that are made to be watched by the entire family. Sure, they won't scare you the same way that Halloween or The Exorcist will, but when you're choosing a movie to watch as a family, that's not normally the movie you want to watch, anyway.

Rather, you want silly, goofy, funny movies that the entire family can enjoy, and this Halloween season, you and your family should definitely consider watching this one Halloween-themed movie.

After all, it was just named New York's favorite Halloween kids' movie.

Study Names New York's Favorite Halloween Kids' Movie, And the Winner Is...

A story from ABC News10 in Albany shared the results of a study done by Dish, which used data from Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb to rank each state's favorite Halloween movie, that also happens to be geared toward kids.

For New York, as well as 13 other states across the country, Ghostbusters was tabbed as the state's preferred Halloween kids' movie.

Alabama, Alaska, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, West Virginia and Wisconsin were ALL states that preferred Ghostbusters over any other Halloween kids' movie.

That's 14 states, in total.

Scooby-Doo was considered the second-most popular film in that category, with eight states ranking it as their No. 1 choice. The Addams Family, meanwhile, was ranked third-most popular, with seven states preferring it over any other.

Both E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown were named most popular in five states, each. Also included in the study were: Hotel Transylvania (2), Frankenstein (2), Spirited Away (2), The Nightmare Before Christmas (1), Hocus Pocus (1), Halloweentown (1), Beetlejuice (1), Casper (1) and Coraline (1).
