It’s been a whirlwind first day of NFL free agency. Okay, technically teams can’t sign unrestricted free agents until Wednesday, but players can talk and negotiate with teams starting at noon on Monday.

The Buffalo Bills were busy. They released offensive lineman Daryl Williams, extended center Mitch Morse and signed both guard Rodger Saffold and defensive tackle, Tim Settle.

Unfortunately, the Bills lost another one of their free agents on Monday night.

According to Mike Garafolo of The NFL Network, defensive tackle and fan-favorite, Harrison Phillips is signing a 3-year deal worth $19.5 million with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Bills replaced Phillips almost immediately. The Bills have signed defensive tackle DaQuan Johnson, formerly of the Carolina Panthers.

The New York Giants also signed former Bills guard Jon Feliciano, as their new center.

Phillips leaving is a huge bummer but the Bills simply could not afford that price with their salary cap limitations.

Harry (as many call him) spent much of his time In the Buffalo community and did not hesitate to spend free time doing charity work.

His play on the field and work off the field will be missed in Buffalo.

Jones is a good addition to the Bills to replace Phillips. He’s one of the more underrated defensive players in the NFL.
