And so it begins for the Buffalo Bills as it does year after year after year. Disaster before the season, as if there isn't enough disaster during the season.Rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel has swelling in his knee and will miss the rest of preseason action.  The Florida State product had a "minor" knee procedure this morning and hopes to be ready for the regular season in terms of the quarterback competition.

That quarterback competition includes Kevin Kolb, who for the time being will assume starting responsibilities.

Buffalo opens the season on September 8 with a visit to New England to take on the Patriots.
