3 former Siena Baseball players will be the 2nd group inducted into the Capital District Baseball Hall Of Fame on October 28th.

The 3 new inductees join 4 others who were the 1st ever as it started in 2011.

2 of the 3 new players to go in had minor league careers and the 3rd in a pro scout.

1st is Dave Smith who had 3 stellar seasons with the Saints, hitting .418 in his freshman year of 1976, he then hit .350 and finished up his last year at .315. Smith was then drafted by the New York Mets but he never got out of the minors. He is currently back with the school as VP of development and external affairs. Smith was inducted into the Siena HOF in 1987.

Smith is joined by class of 82 stalwart Ken Hayner. Hayner was inducted into the Siena athletic HOF in 1991. He also had a stint in the minor leagues. Hayner batted .308 in his college career.

The 3rd is current Baltimore Orioles scout  Jim Howard, class of 84. Howard has had a long and solid career as a scout with the Orioles, twice being named scout of the year.
