
Cashman Says Don’t Expect Scherzer to Be a Yank
The Chris Capuano signing on Tuesday was the nail in the coffin, signifying that the Yankees would not be pursuing free agent Max Scherzer. And less than 24 hours before that, Brian Cashman echoed those sentiments:
"I don't think Yankees fans will be looking at Max Scherzer," Cashman said to NBC New York.
The Yankees are not expected to spend a lot of money this off-season, trying a new approach of not overspending or getting stuck in a long-term deal (i.e. Alex Rodriguez).
