The Siena Men's Basketball team host the College of Charleston tonight at the Times Union Center and coach Jamion Christian joins us to prepare for the game. Coach also sheds some light on what Troy native and Notre Dame graduate Transfer Elijah Burns adds to the Saints.

Siena's Press Release about adding Elijah Burns said the following:

“This is a great opportunity for me to be able to come back home to both play basketball and pursue my master’s degree in business,” explained Burns. “It’s important for me to be around my family as I finish my eligibility.”

Burns, who missed the entirety of his freshman year at Notre Dame due to injury, will exhaust his eligibility at the conclusion of the 2019-20 season. Siena is in the process of formally submitting a request with the NCAA for a waiver which would allow Burns to begin playing for the Saints as soon as this season.

“Obviously were excited about the caliber of person we’ve attracted here in Elijah,” said head coach Jamion Christian. “He’s a home grown player, who’s a high character individual, intelligent, and driven. He’s exactly the type of player we want here at Siena.”

Burns appeared in 44 games including a pair of starts over three-plus seasons with Notre Dame. A 2016 ACC Academic Honor Roll selection, the 6-8, 238-pound forward averaged 2.2 points and 2.1 rebounds spanning 9.0 minutes during his time with the Irish.
