The University at Albany put season tickets for the Great Danes 2021 Football Season on sale this week. The ticket package includes the September 11th home opener against the surging Rhode Island Rams, plus top ranked Villanova, Maine and New Hampshire before the final game of the regular season against arch rival Stony Brook. Yeah, maybe I bleed a little purple and gold but it doesn’t mean that I am wrong when I say it is the best college football you’ll see within a hundred miles.

The Colonial Athletic Conference has produced such NFL greats as Howie Long (Villanova), Joe Flacco (Delaware), Charles Haley (James Madison), Darren Sharper (William & Mary) and scores of others. 36 CAA players were on NFL rosters at the start of last football season, including former UAlbany Great Dane, Jarron Williams. Many of them, including Williams, played at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium while still in college. All the more reason to support the UAlbany Great Danes by purchasing a couple of season tickets.

Great Danes Head Football Coach, Greg Gattuso was on The Drive with Charlie and Dan this week. He talked about his team heading into the fall season. Jeff Undercuffler is coming off of leading all of FCS football in touchdowns. Karl Mofor is one of the best running backs in the CAA and will be showcasing his talents to hopefully find his way onto an NFL roster and Jared Verse is coming off of being named Defensive Rookie of the Year. The foundation is there for another trip to the NCAA playoffs for Gatusso and his Great Danes.

UAlbany kicks off the season September 4th in Fargo against North Dakota State, oh yeah, that was the place that the 3rd pick in the NFL draft, Trey Lance, played. Two weeks later, the Great Danes travel to Syracuse to take on the Orange. This is great football and an awesome time to be a part of it.

The parking lot scene with tailgating, corn hole, music and fun has been growing by the game on Western Avenue. Preferred parking areas make it simple to get in and out with your tailgate party equipment. This is truly fun for the entire family.
