Dick Vitale on Kristaps Porzingis: “The Lakers Made A Mistake” Passing On Him [AUDIO]
With Kobe Bryant announcing his retirement at the end of the year, ESPN's Dick Vitale says it's time to further question the Lakers draft selection from this past off-season.
"I’ve watched [Kristaps Porzingis] on TV several times," said Vitale, to "Armen and Levack", on 104.5 The Team. "All I can simply say is that the Lakers made a major mistake not taking Okafor or Porzingis.
"When you pass on a guy with that size at seven feet plus, who can really play for a future in a guard, I don’t understand the logic.
"[D'Angelo] Russell will be a very good player eventually, but he’s a guard. You can find guards. You cannot find people like Porzingis with that size and touch. I think Phil Jackson is going to get the last laugh on a lot of people."
Listen to "Armen and Levack", weekdays from 3 to 7p ET, on 'Your Home for New York Sports', 104.5 The Team.
