Darrelle Revis has left the Patriots to come back to the New York Jets on a five-year, $70 million contract. Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe gave insight to Armen and Levack.

Is that too much money for the Jets to pay Darrelle Revis?

"No, this is a guy that has a history of wanting to be paid like he is the best cornerback in the game," said Manza Young, Wednesday on 104.5 The Team. "His play obviously backs up that he is the best cornerback in the game. Woody Johnson kind of made it obvious that he was going to be coming after Darrelle Revis in that press conference that he had in January."

Revis is going to be 30 years old this upcoming season. Is he going to be able to keep playing at an elite level?

"We heard stories throughout the season of the battles that Darrelle was having with Tom Brady," Manza Young said, "He is so fanatical about watching film and studying. His technique is so good. His teammates in the secondary were saying that Darrelle would be sitting at his locker with his iPad in his lap cursing, and he was cursing at himself at the mistakes that he made during the course of the game."

"Of course there aren't that many, but that's what he would do. He was always trying to get better. He still obviously has the hunger to play," Manza Young said, "He's getting paid, but he still wants to be the best in the game and back-up his payday with his play."

Revis hopes to return the Jets secondary back to the dominance they had in the early years of Rex Ryan's tenure.
