Freshman Prince Oduro Granted Released From Siena
The fall out in Loundenville, NY continues after Jimmy Patsos resigned under controversial circumstances. The latest player to leave the program or at least request the right to leave the Saints is 6-8 253 pound Forward Prince Oduro.
According to the Times Union, Oduro has been granted his release with a few exceptions.
Oduro, who averaged 9.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game, was a MAAC All-Rookie selection during his men’s basketball freshman season with the Saints.
“Prince got his release, but can’t contact MAAC schools, St. Bonaventure and Albany,” said Khayree Wilson, Oduro’s coach from First Love Christian Academy in Pennsylvania.
Two things jump out to me here. First, good for Siena to let the kid do his thing within reason. Second, by adding UAlbany to the list does this mean "The Albany Cup" will in fact be played this season? No matter what the drama at Siena seems to be a long way from over.
