Did the Giants truly show a lack of effort against the Redskins?

That's what Tom Coughlin said, and Odell Beckham Junior commented that the team "came out flat".

"I don’t like using the word ‘flat’ because I felt like we came out and moved the ball," said Giants offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz. "We had a couple of nice runs early on and when you turn the ball over you’re not going to win. We were mistake prone.

"We made too many mistakes, whether it was the interceptions, not blocking well early on, a couple bad run blocks that hurt us, it was just mistakes. I don’t think ‘flat’ was the right word."

And a "lack of energy"?

"I thought we had good energy. Making mistakes doesn’t mean we came out ‘flat’. I thought our energy was ‘ok’. If we don’t turn the ball over, we’re fine. That’s how it is in the NFL.

"I don’t know how you can play this game that way. I don’t think you can play that long with lack of effort. This is my eighth year, I don’t think anyone is going to say that about me because you’re not going to last that long like that."
