For the second consecutive season I’ll be providing my own personal Top 25 poll each week during the college football season.  My poll philosophy all season long has been ranking the teams I believe are the best twenty five best in the country following that given week’s games. The state of Washington now a College Football Power?-I felt bad for the fans in Pullman, Washington. Yes they won the game but Ol' Crimson has waved for years at College Gameday no matter where they setup in the country. If the game was on Saturday night instead of Friday night, maybe we would have finally seen Gameday live in the Pacific Northwest. The Coach Mike Leach and quarterback Luke Falk led Cougars defeated the USC Trojans. Somehow after winning the Pac 12, going undefeated and qualifying for the college football playoff, the Washington Huskies continue to barely be mentioned nationally. The Apple Cup between the two schools should be an all time classic later in the season.

Teams' ranking starting to change despite not losing?-This is the first week where just over the course of a season one team looks just plain better than another team. As of right now, Georgia has been more impressive against their opponents than Penn State. Ohio State's tests in the Big Ten and one loss on the season have done not enough to keep their slim lead over Washington in my mind stable. Oklahoma State's defense needs to improve because they barely hung on to beat Texas Tech Saturday night.

Non Power 5 Teams. How good are they? I have to admit I'm still trying to figure this out too. South Florida has five wins and just one has been within fourteen points. Is South Florida that good or are their opponents that bad? San Diego State gets into the poll this week but almost lost their running back Rashaad Perry after a dirty play in the game. But the Aztecs almost blew a 17 point lead in the second half. Central Florida barely missed my Top 25 but the Golden Knights have also had three games because of weather cancelled this season. It's a mystery I'll continue to watch this season.
