This season I’ll be providing my own personal Top 25 poll each week during the college basketball season. My poll philosophy is ranking the teams I believe are the best twenty five best in the country following that given week’s games. These rankings tip off this week and will run until January, when then we shift our projections to "mock brackets". The complete poll is listed below. (This Poll was conducted at 1130pm Tuesday December 6th )

1) Villanova

2) UCLA

3) Kansas

4) Baylor

5) Kentucky

6) Duke

7) North Carolina

8) Indiana

9) Creighton

10) Gonzaga

11) Louisville

12) West Virginia

13) Xavier

14) Wisconsin

15) St.Mary's

16) Purdue

17) Virginia

18) Butler

19) South Carolina

20) Notre Dame

21) Arizona

22) Iowa State

23) Oregon

24) Cincinnati

25) USC

Baylor, UCLA huge movers-The Bears and the Bruins are the biggest movers in this week’s poll and they deserve to be. Baylor is undefeated and grabbed a huge win over Xavier. UCLA took down last week’s #1 team in the country Kentucky. Are both teams contenders for the Final 4? I’m not ready to go that far, but both of their resumes have been very impressive so far.

Villanova New #1!-The defending national champions are the new number one team in the country. Are they as good as last year’s team? I don’t think so at all but then again the Wildcats were not talent wise the best team in the country in 2016. The question will be if Coach Jay Wright can work to his team’s strengths like he did last season. So far things look good for the team from Philadelphia.

A lot of West Coast Love-UCLA, Gonzaga, St.Mary’s, Oregon, Arizona (despite a loss) and now even USC are all a part of the top 25. Don’t be surprised that by next month we see more stories about the best basketball being played on the left coast.
