The New York Yankees lost a heart breaker last night to the lowly Detroit Tigers. The Yankees were up 6 - 0 in the second inning and ended up losing 12 - 11. Even though Yankees' manager Aaron Boone and the rest of the Bronx Bombers will try to convince you it's a meaningless loss, ESPN MLB Insider Buster Olney believes not only did this game matter but the Yankees know it too.

Buster shared the story of an encounter he had with Boone and why he thinks this loss could come back to bite the Yankees. Basically it's what we've all been thinking. If the Yankees end up losing home field advantage in the MLB playoffs to the Houston Astros that could be all it takes to shift the balance of power squarely in Houston's favor.
