How Awesome Will The Crowd Be On Saturday At Nolan Gymnasium?
It will be a sad but historic day on Saturday afternoon at Nolan Gymnasium. It will be the final home game in the history of the University of Saint Rose as the college will be unfortunately closing down this summer in 2024. Brian Beaury is an absolute legend and a terrific basketball coach. I feel for the students and the student athletes on these teams. Will Brown has also done a tremendous job coaching the women's team as well. The golden knights have always had a massive following and have had several successful teams including women's soccer recently. Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:
If don't have ticket for the Saint Rose men's basketball game on Saturday at Nolan Gymnasium you won't get one. It's the final home game in the history of the historic program started by head coaches Mike Long and Brian Beaury and the game is completely sold out. The emotions will be running high because the college is shutting down and all that's left are the great memories. Long and Beaury turned Saint Rose into one of the best Division 2 programs in the country back in the day and Saturday against New Haven will be the final chapter. Let's hope Beaury and the Golden Knights end it with a win.
It will be an incredible atmosphere featuring die hard fans and so many former players. I hope Saint Rose wins and sends the university off on the right note that it deserves.
