How Big Is It For The Yankees To Have Latham’s Tommy Kahnle Back?
The New York Yankees are getting healthier as they are getting some reinforcements back. None bigger than Shaker high school graduate and steady bullpen arm Tommy Kahnle. Kahnle brings energy and firepower and a great arsenal of pitches. He was a major part of the Yankees success in their deep postseason runs over the past few years, especially in 2017 where he was so dominant. However, Kahnle's career has been overshadowed by team changes and a recent slew of injuries. Below is my quick take on this form the Times Union:
Shaker grad Tommy Kahnle is ready to return to the New York Yankees on Friday when they open a series in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. Kahnle who has had an injury prone career has not pitched in a game this season because of biceps tendinitis. Kahnle is a very valuable piece of the Yankees bullpen, and the Yankees are paying him millions of dollars to contribute in a big way this season. But he needs to stay healthy, which is something he has not been able to do. When healthy, Kahnle is among the best relievers in the game.
MJ and I had on Yankees beat writer Eric Hubbs from Barstool Sports on Thursday morning and below is what he said about Tommy Kahnle.
MJ and I were joined by Tim Kurkjian per usual on Friday morning and below is what he thinks about Tommy Kahnle returning to the Yankees lineup and bullpen.
I just hope Tommy Kahnle can stay healthy because he is fun to watch with the New York Yankees both on and off the field.
