You know I absolutely love it when our locals are succeeding at a very high level at the professional level.  There is no better representation of that than Andre Jackson Jr.  on the Milwaukee Bucks.  The former Albany Academy standout under head coach Brian Fruscio then went on to have a very successful career at UConn and even won a national championship.  Now he has been on the Bucks and is starting most nights which is a incredible.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

Albany Academy grad Andre Jackson Jr is consistently starting for the Milwaukee Bucks and it's for the same reasons he started for NCAA National Champion UConn. Jackson cracks the starting lineup because of his defense and rebounding abilities and in most cases he's the best athlete on the floor. It's never been about how many points Jackson averages, instead it's all the other categories on the box score that Andre shows up in. Milwaukee has plenty of players who can score but they have no one who can defend and rebound like Jackson does.

Jackson may not score many points but he does so many other things like defend and rebound at a high level.  Now the Bucks have a chance on Tuesday night to win the in season NBA Cup over the Oklahoma City Thunder.  I along with the entire Capital Region will be rooting for him and the Bucks to win.  Jackson will continue to be a key player for remainder of the season and beyond.
