New York Yankees ace Gerrit Cole is off to a terrific start this young 2023 Major League Baseball season.  He has a 0.95 ERA and is coming off of a complete game shutout which was his first since July of 2021.  Cole also has not given up a homerun which is something that has been a major concern for him so far throughout his Yankees career.  He looks locked in and has excellent command of his pitches.  His relationship with catcher Jose Trevino has been key as well.  The Yankees are the only team yet to not lose a series and Cole is a major reason why.

Cole and the Yankees will ultimately be judged on how they perform in the postseason as they haven't reached or won a World Series in 14 years.  I hope Cole can keep up this great start as he continues to be very efficient in getting strikeouts as he was last season.  The Yankees and Gerrit Cole are off to a good start but it is still way too early.
