New York Knicks shooting guard J.R. Smith hit a sweet buzzer-beater on Wednesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats.

The New York Knicks beat the Charlotte Bobcats 100-98 on Wednesday night thanks to a game-winning shot by J.R. Smith.  With the final seconds ticking off of the clock, Smith hit a fallaway jumper over rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.  The Knicks are now 13-4 on the season.

Carmelo Anthony wasn’t on the floor for the final two minutes because he lacerated his left middle finger.  Carmelo dove after a loose ball into the Knicks’ bench.  The injury required five stitches.  Melo said that he was “going to take some time off from diving in the stands.”  The Knicks were able to force the Bobcats to turn the ball over on four of their final five possessions.

Anthony also said that he isn’t sure if he’ll be able to play on Thursday night against the Miami Heat.  He mentioned that his finger was numb.  The Knicks have won four straight games.  They face the Miami Heat at 8:00pm ET on Thursday.  Pregame coverage begins at 7:15pm ET on 104.5 The Team, ESPN Radio.
