Capital Region legend Jimmer Fredette has a short period of time this season to make his mark in the NBA and prove he belongs. However it's clear the mark he made in Utah while playing his college basketball with BYU will last forever. Fredette scored his first points as a Phoenix Sun last night against the Utah Jazz and the fans let him know they remember him.

In a night where Fredette's teammate Devin Booker scored 59 points in a loss to the home team Jazz no one received a bigger reaction from the crowd than Jimmer. In a quick glance around the stands there were plenty of BYU and even a few Fredette Shanghai Shark jerseys.

Jimmer has the remainder of this season (7 games) to prove to the Suns he belongs in their future plans so they'll pick up the second year option on his contract. After seeing the way he is still loved in Utah, I'm a little shocked the Jazz don't find a place for Jimmer either on the court or in their front office.
