Maximum Security Puts In Final Work Before Cigar Mile

After a win in the Grade 3 Bold Ruler Handicap last time out, Maximum Security put in his final workout before Saturday's Grade 1 Cigar Mile at Aqueduct in Ozone Park, NY.

Maximum Security galloped a mile in 1:57.01 on the Aqueduct training track and went the last 3 furlongs in 42.21 seconds. Trainer Jason Servis said that the horse is fit and ready to go.

Maximum Security was disqualified from first in the Kentucky Derby, is seeking his 3rd Grade 1 victory in the Cigar Mile. He won the Grade 1 Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park and the Grade 1 Haskell at Monmouth Park. With a win on Saturday, Maximum Security will be right back in the discussion for 3-year-old male champion horse of the year.
