We've recently had the opportunity to speak to the Albany NLL team Captain Brett Manney and then their 2019 top draft pick Andrew Kew. As excitement around the sport of lacrosse grows and fans here in the Capital Region prepare for the upcoming team announcement it's great to meet some of the men that will hopefully propel Albany to the top of the National Lacrosse League.

First up was "The Captain" Brett Manney (pictured above). Manney instantly showed a passion for the game of lacrosse that I think is going to be contagious in the 518. By the time the interview with Manney was over, I looked down at my phone and had three texts from friends saying "we're hanging with that guy!" If a phone call can inspire people to follow Manney imagine what will happen at the Times Union Center. Listen to Levack, Charlie, and Brett Manney below.

Next up was the 3rd overall pick of the 2019 National Lacrosse League Draft, Andrew Kew (pictured below). Just for a little perspective, UAlbany's Connor Fields went 10th in the 2018 NLL Draft and we all know how good Fields is. Like many of us, Kew was negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Kew's young career in the NLL only consists of 10 games so far thanks to the pandemic shutting sports down. Do yourself a favor and listen to the energy and excitement "The Kid" or "Kew Ball" is about to bring to the Times Union Center.
