Notre Dame’s Manti Te’o Victim Of Catfish? [NoeBrainer]
Was Notre Dame middle linebacker Manti Te’o the victim of a cruel hoax or the mastermind behind a bizarre and twisted plot?
Let me first mention that I’m a diehard Notre Dame football fan. I’m originally from South Bend, IN and I bleed for the Irish. I’ve never hidden my love for Notre Dame while doing “The Noe Show” in Albany, NY. I’d love to believe that Manti Te’o is telling a truthful story (and he might be), but I’m not 100% sure what to believe at this point.
The details of this story are strange to say the least. We know that Manti Te’o’s girlfriend, Lennay Kekua, who supposedly died on the same day as Te’o’s grandmother, never truly existed. She was either part of a sick “catfish” plot, or the creation of Manti Te’o himself.
Sadly, it’s common for a “catfish” to pretend to be someone they aren’t in an effort to play a sick joke on an unsuspecting person. This is possibly what happened to Manti Te’o. Notre Dame and Te’o have stated that Manti met a girl online who wasn’t giving truthful and accurate information about herself.
Who knows where the truth actually lies? The girl that supposedly had leukemia and was involved in a car crash is a myth. It’s unclear if the girl and her associates are the masterminds behind this cruel, devious, and inhumane act, or if it’s Manti Te’o who created the fictitious story. Craziness. Never saw this one comin’! More details are sure to come.
