Horse racing isn't my strong suit.  It isn't Major League Baseball or the National Football League or college basketball or hockey or college football.  I follow the big races though, and we all know The Kentucky Derby is a huge deal.  Who gets hot going into it, who trains the best, who feels the best in their respective post position.  So many factors.  So many unknowns.

My pick is Normandy Invasion.  Maiden winner.  Solid post at #5.  And also has the coolest name in the field.  Truthfully, though, horse pundits are saying that Normandy has been training extremely well.  That works for me.

A lot of people like Orb, and why not?  Well-balanced horse who pushes late.  Some think there is Triple Crown potential here.

Dark horse pick (pun intended):  Verranzano.  4:1 odds.  Good enough for this spot.
