Prison Is The Next Sideline For This Ex-New York Jet

2013 Fifth round NFL draft pick out of Vanderbilt, Zac Stacy played running back for 3 seasons in the NFL. Stacy suited up for the (then) St. Louis Rams in 2013 and 2014. Then the Centreville, Alabama native hooked on with the New York Jets for 8 games in 2015. Now he will put on a new uniform, one representing a Florida prison.

In November of 2021, Zac Stacy was caught on camera brutally beating the mother of his child. As reported on nypost.com, a police affidavit stated that the ex-Jet “struck (his child's mother) on the right side of her head, and picked her up and threw her against the television, causing it to crack and fall over." It got worse. Skip the next paragraph to avoid the details.

The police affidavit claimed that Zac Stacy "continued yelling at her and striking her while she got up from the floor, and picked her up again and threw her into the baby’s bouncy chair. While she was still on the floor pleading for him to stop, he picked her up and body-slammed her onto a baby walker, causing the object to break.” Shockingly, the former NFL player denied the caught-on-video allegations.

The former running said in the police report, “I dropped everything to come down here and support the mother of my child in her last trimester, and the baby. I let her know I wasn’t trying to be with her or nothing like that. This is a case of just bitterness. That’s why she did this. The whole assault thing. She staged it. She set me up.” The disturbing video showed law enforcement that would have been a very painful "set up."

Zac Stacy plead guilty to lesser charges in February. He was sentenced to only six months in prison and a year of probation for the brutal beating by an Orange County judge. The New York post reported that Stacy pled guilty to two counts of criminal mischief. As part of the agreement, the battery charges were dropped.
