One of the coolest things for a sports talk host from the Capital Region is seeing homegrown talent make it to the big leagues. That is unless that homegrown talent OWNS your favorite team in their debut. That's exactly what happened when Shen graduate Ian Anderson made his MLB debut for the Atlanta Braves against MY New York Yankees on my birthday no less.

The postseason has come to an end for the Atlanta Braves and the Capital Region's Ian Anderson but not before Anderson proved he 100% belongs in the Big Leagues. It's been pretty amazing to see just how good the Shen grad really is and just nice it is to see the entire 518 rally behind one person. Even though the Braves fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers it's pretty clear the future is bright in Atlanta with four starting pitchers 26 years old and younger. At only 22 years old Ian Anderson had an MLB rookie year for the ages. Now that the World Series is set between the Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Dodgers let's take a minute to see how the Capital Region reacted to Anderson's amazing performances.

To say that the Shen graduate Ian Anderson was making the Capital Region proud would be a huge understatement. Anderson has now pitched in three postseason games for the Atlanta Braves and has yet to give up a single run to the Cincinnati Reds, Miami Marlins, or Los Angeles Dodgers. Since being selected 3rd overall in the 2016 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves Anderson has added the work needed to turn potential into being one of the top prospects in all of baseball. Anderson has recently climbed to 30 on ESPN Senior Writer Keith Law's Top 100 prospects list.
