Last night the Los Angeles Lakers retired both 8 and 24 for Kobe Bryant. This is an honor Kobe clearly deserves considering his five titles in LA and what an amazing players he always was but Magic Johnson said something in his introduction that was either true or just lip service from the other former Lakers great, Magic said Kobe was the greatest of all time to wear the "Purple and Gold."
The Los Angeles Lakers apparently won't be getting back Phil Jackson any time soon. According to his fiance, Jeanie Buss, co-owner of the Lakers, she says that the Knicks president won't be leaving New York any time soon; especially to join the Lakers...
The Philadelphia 76ers had the ping-pong balls bounce their way last night as they managed to win the 1st overall pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young has been in the news a number of times recently. None of which for his play on the court.

During an appearance on Late night with Jimmy Kimmell, Kobe Bryant showed his displeasure with his Lakers teammates for celebrating like they just won the championship after a win over a bad Celtics team. Kobe's look is hysterical. You can't accuse Kobe of not being a competitor...
Mark down October 29th if you are a hoops junkie chomping to take a bite from the NBA pie.
That's opening night in the National Basketball Association. It features three games. Two will be nationally televised. Somehow, the Orlando Magic and Indiana Pacers didn't make the cut for national TV...
Over the last couple of weeks, I have been very blunt and honest with my opinions about Dwight Howard - he's self-centered, rude, arrogant and not a guy I would want on my basketball team. And then last night, I happened to turn on the 20th Anniversary of the ESPY Awards for the only part I honestly care about: the host's opening monologue...
