The Mets continue to find ways to win, albeit against the Diamondbacks, who have been awful over the last few weeks. Those are the games you're “supposed” to win. Easier said than done when it comes to the Mets. At one point last week, the Metropolitans featured 17 players on the IL. It’s not easy when that list at one time includes Alonso, Lugo, McNeil, deGrom, Davis, Syndergaard, Carasco...well you get the picture.

In a season built far more like a sprint than a marathon, the New York Mets may actually be a true contender. The Mets lineup seems to resemble an American League lineup way more than a National League roster. The implementation of a designated hitter for the NL and 102 less regular-season games might payoff for the Mets.

Many have always said there's no group of fans more loyal than Mets fans. the Mets fan has suffered through some bad times but always stays loyal and always finds a way to believe. One Mets fan named Kathleen Selig had recently been diagnosed with weeks to live. So her granddaughter reached out to the Mets and they truly lived up to their "Amazin Mets" nickname.

I was talking to a friend of mine this morning who happens to be a Mets' fan and he got me thinking, is the Home Run Derby Jinx real? We have guys on the show all the time that swear there's nothing to it but since I've never shy'd away from a good conspiracy theory or fun superstition I decided to dig a little bit deeper and right now I'd have to say I BELIEVE!!!
