The 154th Travers Field is one of the strongest we've had in a while. You can make a case for 5 of the 8 three-year-olds winning on Saturday.

We still have a few more weeks before the field is finalized but the addition of Thorpedo Anna will push the popularity of the Travers over the top.

Thorpedo Anna looks like she could beat boys in the Travers Stakes if that's what trainer Ken McPeak decides to do with his three-year-old filly.

The 40-day Saratoga racing meet is off to a great start with the handle up 18 percent and paid attendance was 102,000 for the opening weekend.

The whole four-day festival was a huge success and Saratoga was a great host from start to finish.

Sets up as a great race with 50.000 fans in the house at Saratoga racecourse.

I can't imagine what that atmosphere will be like, but I would love to find out.

It was sad hearing the news that Funny Cide the first New York Bred to win the Kentucky Derby died on Sunday at the age of 23.

Attendance was once again over 1 million, and for the third time in the last four years a new all sources handle record was set at the Spa.

The Friday Post times for the Saratoga Racecourse have been delayed due to an ongoing technical issue with AmTote, NYRA's tote system provider. The first race post time was scheduled for 1:10 PM EST and will now be an hour later at 2:10 PM EST.

The Run Happy Travers may be behind us but two major graded Stakes races are on the schedule for this weekend at the Saratoga Racecourse. The Saratoga Derby and the Alabama Stakes are both on the card for Saturday at Saratoga.
