2 more wins. Just 2 more. That's what is needed by the Tri City ValleyCats to win their 2nd Penn league championship in 3 years. Of course 2 more wins is what Hudson Valley is also saying. So it shall be the Cats vs the Renegades for all the marbles.

Before looking ahead the Cats can look back at game 3 and the beating-albiet late beating of Auburn 16-7 in the deciding game 3 of this series. The final game was tight going to the bottom of the 7th, but Tri City scored 9 runs in the last 2 frames to over come a 1 run deficit. They scored 5 in the 7th and 6 more in the bottom of the 8th.

Auburn pitching was generous all night offering up 14-yes 14 walks and 14 hits yet time and again the VallyCats couldn't get the big hit. Finally in the 7th the dam broke!

After an RBI single in the 7th by Joe Sclafani snapped a 6-6 tie, Jesse Wierzbicki cleared the bases with a 3 run double. It was game over after this!

It's been up and down for the Cats the past 3 years. They won the title in 2010, missed the playoffs entirely in 2011 and now have a chance to win it again. This after a record breaking year in wins for the Houston Astros A ball affiliate.

Said manager Stubby Clapp after his club knocked out Auburn in game 3 of the 3 game series " I have to give our guys credit, at 1st we were only getting 1 run at a time we had the bases loaded, finally we got the big knock that kind of broke things open".

The A ball- Penn league championship opens at home for Tri-City on Tuesday vs the Renegades on Tuesday night. Hudson Valley will host game 2 and 3 if needed. Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday with the final game if necessary  would also be at HV on Thursday.
