The Patriots lost to the Eagles yesterday, but that doesn't mean the game was devoid of good news for New England.

Tom Brady has now emerged as a pass-catching option for the Patriots, which is good, considering most of his actual receivers have struggled catching the ball consistently.

Check out this play from yesterday's game:

Not only does Brady get good yardage, the set up of this play was even more brilliant than I realized.

Brady walks away from the center and pretends to shout instructions to the outside. As he's doing this, the Pats running back takes the direct snap. He then flips it to Danny Amendola, who comes around for a reverse. But rather than keep the ball and run, Amendola throws it back to Brady!

The play had the Eagles totally fooled - and had me fooled sitting at home.

Tom Brady: Valid pass-catching option for the Patriots.
