
UAlbany Football Picked Last In CAA Preseason Poll
Earlier this week, the CAA released their preseason awards and it was not great news for UAlbany Great Danes football fans. Following a 3-8 season and a 1-7 season in the CAA, the Great Danes were picked to finish last in the CAA in 2019. This is the first time since the program joined the league in 2013 that they have been picked to finish last in the preseason polls. Below are the complete preseason votes.
- James Madison (20 first-place votes) 238
- Towson (3 first-place votes) 217
- Maine (1 first-place vote) 201
- Elon 164
- Delaware 162
- Stony Brook 151
- New Hampshire 109
- Rhode Island 104
- Villanova 84
- Richmond 62
- William & Mary 58
- UAlbany 34
Troy high school graduate and sophomore wide receiver Dev Holmes was named an all-conference honorable mention along with linebackers Levi Metheny and Eli Mencer
