UAlbany Women Heading to Title Game

Not to be outdone by the UAlbany men, the Great Dane women also advanced to the America East final on Sunday. UAlbany beat UMBC, 66-37, to advance to their fourth straight conference title game.

And because No. 1 Maine lost to fifth-seeded Hartford, UAlbany will get to host the title game on Friday afternoon against Hartford. The Danes are now 23-8.

Shereesha Richards led the way with 20 points and 15 rebounds while Sarah Royals had 15 points and Imani Tate had 10.

The Danes out-rebounded the Retrievers 50-30 and forced 22 turnovers.

UAlbany's defense was key -- they held UMBC to just nine first-half points.
