UAlbany lacrosse is not the only Capital Region team with the potential to secure an NCAA tournament postseason bid this weekend. At the Division three level, the Union Dutchmen have punched their ticket to a Liberty League championship game. The Dutchmen defeated RPI 13-8 earlier this week in Schenectady to secure the finals spot. Head coach Paul Wehrum told the Daily Gazette earlier this week that he believes his team has already done enough to earn an at large bid to the thirty four team NCAA tournament field

Two years ago, we didn't even make the league playoffs," he said. "I've been here 13 years now, and we made the playoffs 10 of the first 11 years, so that really hurt. The seniors came back with a real intention to make the NCAAs, and I think today they did

The Dutchmen hold a 13-2 record and rank twelfth nationally in the country.

Union will play at #1 RIT on Saturday at 1 for the league championship.
