ValleyCats Left Off MLB Affiliate List And Never Told [AUDIO]
After more than 30 years of working with MLB-affiliated baseball teams, Murphy was caught off guard to see the list released without any prior notification the Cats wouldn't be affiliated any longer. The Tri-City ValleyCats had been the Short Season Single-A ball affiliate of the Houston Astros since 2002. The Cats were three-time champions of the now-defunct New York Penn League and easily one of the best ways for a family to enjoy professional baseball and more without breaking the bank. Hearing one of the driving forces behind the team we all love say MLB didn't even let them know this list was being released bothers me almost as much as our team being left off the list. Listen below for the full scoop on how we got to this point and to hear Team President Rick Murphy tell us there will be professional baseball at Joe Bruno Stadium with or without the affiliation of the MLB.
