Yu Darvish was just too much for the Yankees to handle as the Rangers beat New York 2-0.

The Rangers got on the board early as Ian Kinsler hit a leadoff home run off of Hiroki Kuroda in the first. They would add an extra run in the bottom of the Third with a RBI single from Josh Hamilton scoring Elvis Andrus.

Yankees hitting would struggle against Yu Darvish the entire game. They missed a great chance to get some runs on the board in the third as they had the bases loaded with no outs but Curtis Granderson would strike out and Alex Rodriguez would hit into a double play.

Both Starters pitched very well. Kuroda would pitch 6 2/3 innings striking out 5 and walking 2, his biggest mistake being the HR to Kinsler.  Darvish was just that much better going  8 1/3 innings of shutout ball striking out 10 while walking 2. Darvish would be taken out after giving up a single to Nick Swisher. Joe Nathan would come in and throw one pitch that Raul Ibanez would hit into a double play to end the game.

The rubber game of this 3 game series takes place Wednesday night with Phil Hughes on the mound for the Yankees taking on Scott Feldman for the Rangers. You can check out all the action on 104.5 Team ESPN Radio with the pre-game at 7:30 and the first pitch at 8:05
