Dominated from the outset, the Albany Devils were shutout by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday night dropping them further behind in the Eastern Conference playoff chase.

The Devils managed only a paltry 11 shots all night. Compare that to the Penguins who had 15 in just the 1st period, followed it up with 14 in the 2nd, and then pulled back in the 3rd when they generated only 3 chances, 2 that went in.

The Devils countered with 2,8,and 1 shots in goal in order. if not for Jeff Frazee this game could have been even uglier.

Wilkes-Barre's Chad Kolarik opened the scoring  48 seconds in and the Penguins left the ice with a 2-0 lead courtesy of a goal with 11 seconds left in the period by Trevor Smith.

The Penguins added a pair of scores in the 3rd to ice the contest.

The loss left the Devils 5 points shy of a playoff spot, and in 10th place in the East. They will look to get back on track in their next contest, back home at the Times Union Center against Rochester.
