This is starting to look similar to last season for the Siena Saints. Play close, fail to make a play or two at the end of a ballgame and lose. It happened to the Saints again Friday night in the first round of the NUCDF tournament in San Diego.

Taking on Cal State Northridge in their third game of the year the Saints had a late lead but again couldn't hold it and lost 68-64 to the Matadors. CS Northridge, from the Big West conference is now 4-0 on the early season.

Stephen Hicks poured in 20 points to lead CSN. Stephen Maxwell chipped in 19. Both grabbed 10 boards in addition to their scoring exploits.

O.D. Anosike and Rob Poole led the way for Siena with 19 apiece. Poole hit five three pointers. Anosike led the glass cleaners for Siena with 12. Evan Hymes who finished with 14 points and five assists hit two free throws with just over three minutes left to give Siena the lead 58-57. It turned into their last lead.

The Matadors grabbed the lead for good after a  three ball from Josh Greene with 1.45 left. They never gave the lead back. Siena will look to even their record again when they play Saturday night in the consolation game of the tournament against Northern Kentucky.
