Battle of The Sexes Movie Trailer Released

Last week the first pictures have been released from the upcoming newest sports film starring Academy Award nominee Steve Carell and Academy Award winner Emma Stone Battle of the Sexes. Earlier this afternoon the first trailer for the film was released to the public. The film due this September will profile the 1973 tennis match between Billie Jean King (Stone) and Bobby Riggs (Carell). Some sports writers believe the match between the two was a monumental moment in women's sports history. The director Johnathan Dayton said this to People magazine.

This was a really important and serious time in the women’s liberation movement, and it was one of the first times that a political issue was acted out in the circus-like atmosphere. It just felt incredibly relevant to today’s time
