Eli Manning Confirmed As Team’s Starting Quarterback In 2019
New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur confirmed to the media today that Eli Manning will be the team's starting quarterback for the 2019 season. Reporters spoke to Coach Shurmur during an event in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine. Shurmur's quotes from the press conference included
I think Eli can help us win games, At this point I want Eli back. He’s back
There was discussion all year long about whether Eli would stick around with the Giants for another season. It's obvious Manning doesn't have quite the ability that he used to, but the question remains: who would they get that would be better? He can still play, but he needs good protection in front of him. He only has one year left on his contract anyway, so maybe they can plug a few holes and put together a team good enough to make one last run.
