This season I’ll be providing my own personal Top 25 poll each week during the college football season. My poll philosophy is ranking the teams I believe are the best twenty five best in the country following that given week’s games. Below are my rankings and comments about each week’ biggest shake up and changes.

1) Alabama

2) Louisville

3) Ohio State

4) Michigan

5) Clemson

6) Washington

7) Wisconsin

8) Oklahoma

9) Penn State

10) West Virginia

11) Western Michigan

12) Texas A&M

13) Auburn

14) LSU

15) Colorado

16) Florida State

17) Oklahoma State

18) Washington State

19) USC

20) Florida

21) Nebraska

22) Utah

23) Troy

24) North Carolina

25) Stanford

A Week With No Upsets?! (11/7 whiff)- A swing and a miss last week by me. I closed last week’s piece saying not expect many upsets. Well the exact opposite happened with Clemson, Michigan and Washington all losing.

How did you come up with your Top 6?- My top six goes Alabama, Louisville, Ohio State, Michigan, Clemson and Washington. I understand it is different than the college football’s rankings but here’s my rational. Louisville’s lone loss came on the road against Clemson. I would take the Cardinals over the Tigers in a game in Louisville and on a neutral sign. Their quarterback Lamar Jackson is too much of a play maker not to be able to change the outcome of a game. Ohio State’s lone loss against Penn State on the road looks to be less damning to their resume each week while their rival Michigan’s win over Penn State and Colorado look more impressive as well. Clemson and Washington both stand in position to improve their resume with a win in a possible conference title game.

Penn State Still Not Ranked High Enough?- One of the biggest criticisms I heard from last week’s poll was my lack of respect for Penn State. Last week Coach James Franklin’s squad ranked 13th in the country. They get bumped up this week because their loss to Pittsburgh now looks better after the Panthers defeated Clemson. Indiana was competitive into the 4th quarter against the Nittany Lions. Besides the win over Ohio State, what else on the schedule impresses you about the team from State College? If Ohio State wins out, this team can still be on pace to play in the Big Ten title game.
