The Giants were courteous enough to give Tom Coughlin an extension to not make him a lame duck, but they can't do the same for Eli Manning?

Ok, that might be a little extreme or twisted out of context, but you know what I'm saying, right?

The Giants last year asked Manning to play under a new offense for the first time in his career, which included his tweaking his stance and mechanics. He never complained and in fact, was nothing but a role model and example for all the other guys on the team for buying into the new system with first-year offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo.

Also, let's not forget that Manning put up career numbers last year. That means, he looked better than ever before. In some aspects, better than those two regular seasons where he won Super Bowls and was named Super Bowl MVP.

The Giants have reportedly not been aggressive in negotiating a new contract for Eli, but why not? You have a franchise, Super Bowl winning quarterback who wants to be there long-term, why allow this to continue to loom? Ask Jerry Jones and the Cowboys how their off-season has been trying to extend their super-star's contract.

So you're not extending Eli now because you could save a couple of million in the long-run? Not worth it. Lock him up. Don't you owe that to him?
