It has been 15 years since the NBA All-Star Game was held in New York. That will change, however, in 2015 when All-Star weekend will be co-hosted by the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks.

All-Star Saturday Night, the evening that features the Shooting Stars, Skills Competition, Three Point Shootout, and Slam Dunk Contest, will be held at Brooklyn's Barclays Center. The All-Star Game itself will be contested on February 15, 2015 at Madison Square Garden.

I am interested to see how the two organizations handle the event, as a rivalry has developed between the Knicks and Nets since the Nets' decision to move from New Jersey to Brooklyn. I am not sure if two teams that have made it clear through the media that they are trying to beat out one another for the title of the best team in New York can coexist for All-Star weekend.

The 2015 All-Star game will be the first All-Star game held in New York since 1998, a game that featured Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan going at it at Madison Square Garden.
