Local Star Heads to Spring Training, Joins Us

Last week we chronicled Section II products in professional baseball, and we continue to do so again this week.

Joining us today? Shenendehowa graduate Branden Cogswell. "Cogs" helped lead the University of Virginia to the College World Series championship series before being selected in the 7th round of the 2014 draft by the Oakland A's.

Cogswell, J.P. Sportman (La Salle), and Murphy Smith (Shen) make up the trio of local products in the A's system.

Cogswell spent the 2014 minor league season playing with the Beloit Snappers in full season A ball.
