The Alliance of American Football League didn't last nearly as long as we all had hoped but at least we got to see Albany Empire standout Wide Receiver Malachi Jones do his thing for the Atlanta Legends.

You can still see Malachi's hard nose fearless over the middle and dive into the wall style that made him so successful and popular here in Albany. Jones was able to put together a top ten season in receiving before the AAF was forced to suspend operations. Jones had 22 catches for 312 yards and 2 touchdowns while averaging 14.2 yards a catch.

Pro Football Talk is reporting that NFL teams are not allowed to sign AAF players yet. This isn't great news for Malachi Jones and other AAF alumni but it could be big for Albany Empire fans. Fingers crossed the reigning AFL Rookie of the Year will return to help the Empire with their #UnfinishedBusiness.
